The Kids Korner & Student Assistance Program accepts Master’s level interns in the Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor programs.

Description: This position may be filled by graduate students enrolled in MSW, MFT and LPCC programs and seeking practicum placements. Interns are placed at either an elementary school (Kids Korner) or secondary school (SAP). These placements require at least 16 hours per week commitment, over 2 or 3 days. Clients are seen at the schools by interns, individually or in-group. Trainees also aid with crisis interventions at school sites. Placements provide trainees with hands-on experience in a wide range of issues and a diverse student population.
Trainees become a part of the school that they are placed at and may attend various meetings involving their clients as they interface with the school personnel and culture. These placements offer a unique and valuable opportunity to develop their professional identity and enhance their clinical skills in a supportive setting.

EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS
Full-Time Employee Benefits provided by PVPSA
(Eligibility established for positions requiring a minimum of 30 hours a week)

Paid Time Off – Up to 21 days per year for first 3 years, increasing to 27 days after 3 years of employment, based on the hours of employment.
Sick Leave – 6 days (up to 48 hours) per year of Sick Leave per AB 1522 5 days or 40 hours per SB 616 plus 1 extra day provided by PVPSA 948 hours
Holidays – 17 paid holidays per year
Bereavement Leave – 3 days paid + 2 more days paid if travel of 250 miles or more is required
Medical Health Plan* – Agency pays 92% of employee only premium for Gold Standard medical coverage. Employee may upgrade at their own expense. Employee pays 8% of cost.
Family Medical – Additional family members: Employer covers 75% of family medical cost (not including employee). Employee is responsible for 25% of cost.
Dental Plan* – Employer pays 100% of the premiums for employees and dependents.
Vision Plan* – Employer pays 100% of the premiums for employees and dependents.
Life Insurance – Agency paid $25,000 term policy. Employee may purchase additional life insurance.
Retirement – Agency paid retirement contribution is 5% of your annual salary after completion of 1 year of employment. Funds are fully vested after completion of 3 years of uninterrupted employment.
Flexible Spending Account – Employees may elect this pre-tax program to cover qualifying healthcare and/or childcare expenses.
*Employees who work less than 40 hours a week will have additional employee contribution.
